After just watching Ross Lyon laughing and joking in front of the cameras and looking very joyful and relaxed with his 5 year contract I can't help but feel annoyed and disappointed.......it's not the kind of communication I'd would expect to see I hope he realises that Fremantle has lots of supporters that are very disappointed and invest time and money for the love of the Dockers

Pretty sure it is not all smiles giggles and fairy bread out of the public eye. Do we want him to walk around like a clueless zombie, or an angry rude Malthouse type. He has to project confidence and remain calm, he is the overall team leader. I am sure at times he would love to just tee off or scream or smash someone or something, maybe that's how we become more Hawthorn.

I have full faith in Ross Lyon.. He is not playing golf every other day counting his money.. He is working hard and the players are putting in.. The wheel will turn.. We need to get a bit of speed and elite kicks in like Harley Bennell.. This was always going to happen, it happened a year earlier than I thought, but we got old.. Lachie Weller looked the goods on the weekend, he will be a gun.. Draft in a couple and we will be humming.. We have a couple of really good players around the 25 years mark so that will hold us in good stead.. If we can land a key position player in free agency we might bounce back quickly.

And Ross tells it like it is. Last year when we were winning, Ross wasn't happy. He could see that there were problems, and he'd come out and say that we weren't playing that well. A lot of people would have thought he was just trying to keep a lid on things, rather than actually being honest. So this year, I'm inclined to believe him. Its particularly encouraging to hear him say that they tried some things that haven't worked. Refreshingly honest.

Listening to Ken Hinkley at 2/2 and Ross Lyon at 0/4 this week and how different their public rhetoric is, I just find it really interesting.

I don't need to hear from the coach at all, I don't need him catastrophising cause we are losing football games. I just find it interesting the coach with 2 wins is calling his team a rabble and the one at 0/4 says he has never been calmer.

To Roly, the media while having to be dealt with, is a circus.

Why shouldn't he be happy with a five year contract? We were in the Toilet and Roos games but came undone through injuries, a few suspect free kick imbalances and a few skill errors. Lyon is currently refocusing the group, unlike Hinkley whose calling in the shrink.

We still have a solid group and will build as the season progresses.
