My own view is that a WA-based team would not have a hope in hell, no matter how good they were, of winning a GF replay. I hope it doesn't benefit the Weagles this year.
This rule change also probably comes 6 years late for Roly's Saints.
The only thing I don't like about this rule is this: Why treat GFs any differently to normal games of AFL footy? In this regard, we become just like the soccer world cup where they allow draws in early rounds, but when the pointy end of the finals comes, games are decided by penalty kicks.
I think it's better to do away with draws in AFL footy; just treat every game the same - regular season, finals, and GF - play the extra time, so that you get a winner and a loser in every game of footy.
