The 2013 finals series, he really smashed into the opposition and had their forwards looking over their shoulders. Nothing fancy just worked incredibly hard.
I like ZacD he fills the role of maverick nutter in our side and we are always a better side with a few of them in. It has become a bit of a Freo trademark. We should have a Billy Goat of the year award for the best escaped goat of the season. I would like to have seen Keplar get one of those.

I can't remember who we were playing, but Dawson has taken the best mark of his life out on the wing, went back and completely duffel the kick. Comical.
I still have a higher opinion of him than a lot of others though, and respect the job he does for us. I acknowledge his deficiencies, and one of the reasons I appreciate him is, that he knows them too. Therefore he doesn't try to do stuff that he is not capable of.

I have come to understand the value of Dawson, best highlighted when not playing against opposition with a big bodied tall.

He is the master of the clumsy but when have we ever been monstered by a full forward on his watch?

And he plays well in the big games.

Off the field he is altruistic in the community and a loyal team mate, I am off his back.

2012 Elimination Final against Geelong at the MCG. Pav starred in attack, but at the other end Zac was quietly towelling up Hawkins.

I've spent way too long sticking up for Dawson. I can't say he's one of our better players, but while his mistakes are glaring (as they are for most backmen), I'm not sure he gets his due for being, well, effective. Mostly.

Well done on 150 games.
