Geez we look short in defence. Alex should go back and help with the ruck down that end and Tabs can help out in the ruck up forward. Hannath hasn't been setting the world on fire for Peel I'd leave him out. Crozier has earnt another shot at it.

I am really getting a feeling of a recurring nightmare where Freo persists playing guy's on hope rather than form. Hope that this week they will get better, hope that players hopelessly out of form have slaughtered some kind of animal to the gods in order to find said missing form. I really hope Tabs, Tucker and Hannath come into the side.
Mayne. .......if Yarran is not ready to replace him why not give Crozier a go? Too short down back again, with the same turnover machines in place. FFSake have the Freo selectors not looked at the Roos forward line? Insert here huge sigh of impending depression.

I can only assume (or more correctly, hope) that the reason Collins isn't included is that Griff and Hannath will make the final 22 along with Crozier or something, and either one of the big guys will play forward whilst not in ruck, which in turn allows A Pearce (or possibly Mayne?) to go down back and be the third tall against the Roos' giant forward line..

As I have already indicated I hope Collins gets the nod soon (in fact I suggested his inclusion this week against NM's tall forwards). But I think Collins probably replaces one of either Dawson, Johnson or Ibbotson. He's fourth in the pecking order. So unfortunately Sam is going to have to bide his time and keep playing well in the WAFL until one of the players above him in the pecking order gets (God forbid) injured or looses form in a fairly significant way. Also unfortunately Collins has not played forward at Peel so there is no indication as to how he would go as a forward. This reduces his selectability.

I am surprised Hannath has been picked as he looks an ordinary wafl player at best. I understand the need for a second ruckman but would have thought that we'd be better off getting Pearce or anyone else tall enough to have a crack. You'd have to be pretty unlucky to lose another ruckman in consecutive weeks. After being on the list for a number of years I suppose they may have told Hannath 'well this is it' but I'd prefer they did it when the season was technically over. I hope I get proven wrong but Lyons selections continue to baffle me.

Hannath named as emergency, we have named both A Pearce and Tabs so I assume we can go with 3 tall forwards or if the Roo's tall forwards start doing some damage we can swing Pearce back and still have Tabs and Pav up forward, this looks like a better balanced side, however Griff needs to be fit if he's going to take on goldy all day.

Moving forward I think Tabs is going to have to pinch hit in the ruck a lot more often, likewise what I would expect from Apeness when he returns to full fitness, as he was initially a ruckman along side Boyd for vic metro.
