It will take at least two top three draft picks to even enter in the bidding.
Remembering that Hogan isn't out of contract until the end of 2017, we would have to tank very severely next year to get our hands on a top 3 draft pick.
If we were 'lucky' enough to secure a top 3 pick on our own, we would still need to find another one or give up players with enough currency to equate to another top 3 pick.
Using your analogy you are probably looking at:
Finish bottom 3 next year + Hill + Neale + future first round draft pick (or picks)...to be somewhere near the ballpark.
Unless of course we finish absolute last next year and secure Hogan in the draft. Competition for 18th place will be very strong.
Knowing our luck, Bondy would probably come back with Paul Hogan.
