It has taken a while but have adjusted to new expectations of the season. I am seriously disappointed that we have missed our opportunity after waiting so long.
I am confident that the club remains on track, and happy Roly is locked in for the next phase and will need to hang his reputation on bringing us back to the top echelon. I believe that he can coach and adjust our style and list to achieve this. You don't get teams into top 4 positions consistently if you are a crab.
I for one prefer that our club is now taken seriously and not treated as a laughing stock, I am glad that we are stable and make measured decisions as opposed to say Richmond, who are forced to stick with a coach that has proven nothing to demonstrate that they are not going to make the same mistakes as the past.

Agarn, we got to enjoy the special talents of Rodney Marsh and Stan Bowles whilst others were winning things.

True Icon. Eerily similar to us having Clive and Purple Jesus whilst others were winning.

My 'ladder predictor' effort after last night led me to 10 wins for the season.
Any more than that I'll be pleased.
Getting 12 or 13 to have a place in the eight would be a bonus.

I just want to know who's the coaching genius that's been teaching them to handball to a player either:
- under more pressure,
- stationary
- or both.

Mercifully I was on an aborted diving trip for the first half of the Bulldogs game but what I've seen since reminds me of the dark days under Drum where going backwards was the new forward.

If it was the kids making these mistakes I'd understand but it seems to affecting all and sundry.

Probably those Hawks sent over to knobble us - well, mission accomplished inside 3 games!!

Try supporting Swindon Town FC since you were 5.... Who? Exactly. It hurts.

I keep telling myself that from memory the Hawks were struggling this time last year.

After getting a thumping from the Dogs this afternoon, the Hawks will be struggling at the start of this season too.

[Edit: Bloody Hawks. Don't know how to lose.]

Anyone who has been supporting Freo for more than a few years still remembers the bitter taste of regular defeat and the sight of some truly average football. In recent years that bitter taste has been sweetened with some great success and fantastic footy.
One of Freo's greatest assets has been it's supporters who have cheered them on in their victories and defeats. This won't change. So I disagree that we aren't used to loosing. We are just getting fed up with loosing and, at the moment, playing crap footy.
Success (a preimership) will come and we'll be playing exciting footy too. I'll be there to cheer them on however long it takes. Will you?

Sorry, but you keep on fighting til the bitter end. Last time I checked, there are still 15+ rounds to go. The bit that disappoints me the most is the knowledge that the players had some input into shaping the game plan and look how well they are adapting to it. I'm a big Lee Spurr fan, but towards the end of the derby, he kind of lost it. And, they did plan for second (and third) ruckstocks. It's just that 211 got injured during the game, Clarke got injured in the first bouncedown of the WB game, and Hannath and Griff haven't showed better form to force themselves being picked.

I remember a few years back when sandi was having a toe removed and was out for half the season. Griff was getting a regular game and the whole team became more fluid without relying on the tap but following up more in the mid and we started winning more games. Hoping we might see a bit of that in the coming weeks.
