I find it interesting that after years of being a freo fan we've become one of those teams that turns on itself when it loses. Such short memories. I may get slayed for this, but who cares i've been drinking all day - has winning a premiership become so encompassing for the supporters, coaches and players that we've forgotten to have fun? My theory is that if freo just started enjoying themselves more they would play great footy, the talents there... Thoughts?

I'm sure Melbourne, Brisbane, Carlton, etc would like to enjoy themselves but that's waaaaaay easier said than done.

I was a big Man City fan when they struggled for many years and no matter what, you stuck with them, putting up with all the crap from opposition fans and the media, very much like Freo in fact. As they and us have become more successful, more people have jumped on and they haven't had the same past experience so struggle when we lose.
The thing is with any success, it builds greed, you no longer endure making up the numbers so whereas winning a game used to provoke a huge outpouring of emotion, we just expect it now and when it doesn't happen, we don't cope.
Wish there was a happy medium though.

FYI, we didn't enjoy ourselves during Drum and Connelly eras. We survived it. Flashes of brilliance made up for the fact expectations remained low.

Freo have been struggling since the GF appearance. Minor premiers last year, playing some of the most tedious football I can remember. I could fall asleep watching them win a flag like that. It would hardly be worth the wait.

Well if you can stick around for another 5 you'll get one I reckon CA.

I am confident we will get two of the Hogan, Hooker and McCarthy opportunities. We will go to the draft earlier this year and next and have currency to get these guys.

Bennell, Fyfe, Hill, Weller, Neale, Crozier, Walters , Pearce , say McCarthy and Hooker.

I still have hopes for Mora and Apeness can really play too.

I think we'll be fine but we need to get busy with some trades in 2016.

And incredibly I think we need to plan for another ruckman.

At the start of the season, looking at the fixtures with some optimism, I thought Freo's hardest four games were the two derbies, Hawks in Tassie and Round 1 vs Bulldogs at Docklands. That is, Freo have lost 2 of their hardest four games of the season (IMO) and Gold Coast are going much better than I would have thought. My optimism also included having 211, Mundy, MJ and Bennell playing.

Fast forward to now and I'm not so optimistic, but that is mainly due to the fact that we will be missing those three A graders in 211, Mundy and Bennell for at least another couple of weeks.

Yep, Freo are playing bad and their turnovers and disposals have been poor, but surely that can and will improve.
By the end of Round 8 we could find ourselves 2 wins and 6 losses, but I expect to see us then win quite a few to still make the finals with something like 11 to 14 wins for the season.
Gone to bigfooty where there's fewer Docker Haters.

All the signs of a limp type of winning were there in the second half of 2015. Just getting over the line without any real authority over a game. The start of 2016 has emphasised our list is unbalanced ie too many on the way out and not enough quality coming through as has been pointed out by many. Time the Board made a few employees accountable for where we are at.
