Since 2015 R1, Barlow has had 25 or more disposals in 10 of those 26 matches. That may not sound impressive, but compare it to the young players everybody seems to want included at Barlow's expense;

- Crozier - 34 Games, most disposals 17.
- Morabito - 26 Games, most disposals 18.
- A. Pearce - 14 Games, most disposals 16.
- Weller - 5 Games, most disposals 16.
- Langdon - 3 Games, most disposals 18.
- Smith - 2 Games, most disposals 17.
- Hughes - 1 Game, most disposals 22.
- Grey - 1 Game, most disposals 20.
- Blakely - 1 Game, 12 disposals.
I'm just saying, you drop Barlow, short term, the team's not going to be any better off.

The problem isn't Barlow, it's Barlow's role in the side. He is fantastic when in the middle winning clearances but as a pure forward is a different story. Unfortunately that's the position RL persists with him which doesn't work

No one would be happier than me if Barlow can turn it around, however second half of last year and this year with this his bad skills and slow speed and fumbles have hurt us. Maybe this is being highlighted playing half forward...... But we won't be able to win tonight if he continues the same recent form that's for sure

I am firmly planted in the Bizkit camp on this one, go back and and watch rnd 23 from last year, 30+ disposals and about 10 clearances in the middle without the silver service of sandi playing speaks for itself. Was the general of a bunch of kids and performed very well, Roly needs to play him in the middle way more often, as Shane has mentioned above his best attribute is reading the play and getting to the space the ball is going to go, totally wasted in a forward role where he has a defender covering him, should be in the middle providing an outlet for the ball coming out of defense.

The only problem I have with ROLY's coaching is where he plays his draft selections over, who I refer to as "Harvey's boys".
Put MickeyB in the guts and use little Lachie around the ground. Sutcliffe and Sheridan play roles where they are given far more influence on the game than their skill sets permit them to exert, then just point to the stats and say they are influential. If rather see the ball in the hands of one of our elite kickers like Johno, Stephen Hill and Son son and
err...Ibbo?
I actually appreciate the 1% ers from The Fist are what he's in the team for.
I think there is some upside to Sheridan yet, but Sutcliffe at over 60 games wouldn't get a game in many other sides as small defender.

If WC can structure a midfield around Priddis strengths (as much as it pains me --- extractor, good vision, quick hands and good footy smarts) surely we can around Barlow.

Either that or turn him in to a Josh Gibson / Sam Fisher role a kick behind the play and free to zone off and take marks.

As for Dawson ---- the 1 % are great but today's game is a retain possession / transition game where you use your whole team to move the ball down the field. He doesn't create --- he doesn't try and link up --- he doesn't even run or move to drag an opposition player with him. So essentially we are trying to move ball down field 17 v 18 and that's near on impossible.
