I don't think we'll ever know how good Tabs is until his teammates abandon the 'kick and hope' or 'lob pass over the head of the stationary player' approach to forward play. Even Franklin and Kennedy rely on the ball being delivered accurately out in front of them.

Comparing Tabs and A Pearce to Luke Mc and Pav is comparing a pick 37 and a rookie against a pick 4 and 10.

Our obvious problem is our complete lack of high draft picks in the team. Quality keys come from high draft picks. We should have trade for high picks a few years ago.

Thanks Fre_doh, I knew you'd deliver. So, just to finish what I've started, we're trying to change our style in 2016, by recruiting a couple of ex-Hawks based on their experience. There were signs in the NAB games that we're still struggling to score heavily. Though, NAB 1, against the Tigers and with Sandi playing, it was promising. In 3 games without Sandi, since then, we've spiral out of control. Basically, our mids are rudderless without Sandi. That's where games are won or lost. Not surprise to see that we're going with one ruckman. I'd be surprise if Freo would repeat the following stats this weekend : "Dockers were flogged in the clearances (35-24), centre clearances (13-9) and in contested possessions (157-113) in their 65-point loss to the Bulldogs.", not with Sandi back. In fact, I'm tipping that we've seen the last of those sort of stats at least for the next few rounds.

Thanks for the stats Fre_Doh. To me looks like they support that maybe Taberner is being treated slightly harshly, and other big forwards in the league may be given a better run at it with some reasonably meager output. I am not saying that he is the answer could very well end up being our Jarrod Grant.

Jebediah round 9 was when Johnno pulled his hamstring.

The answer is we played great footy with him in the team, and played ordinary without him in the team.

More so without AA Luke. It seems that the attempt to match Sutcliffe up on Stringer may have been to free up Ibbo to play the general of the backline role. He is suited to it as he has shown in the past, but Sutcliffe wasn't up to his part in the plan. ( No I am not saying that is all Sutcliffes fault.)

Sometimes I think Tabs is our Hugh Grant. Or Ginger Grant.

General Grant.

I think you guys need to lighten up a bit.

One thing you probably should have learnt over the last few years is that a team only has to be a few percentage thingos off it's best to get towelled up. I don't want to make any rash promises to those of you up the back looking for a way out of the dark but rd1, 10 on a Sunday am and having a ruckman get savagely kicked in the knee goolies at first bounce isn't necessarily the equivalent of having an acorn fall on your head.

Man up.

I wasn't suggesting that Jarrod Grant was a positive, it was more a reference to the Bulldogs perserverence with Jarrod Grant and Liam Jones that resulted in both never actually amounting to much. I would like to know if Taberner is worth perservering with.

Pardon my ignorance Guy but could you explain what knee goolies are?

And if they're what I think they are does that mean you can also have elbow nurries?

Let's hope the blokes we expect to man up, do so tomorrow. Otherwise the media AFL April 1 stunt could be worth serious consideration.
