I would love to think we somehow trained for 4 months and somehow managed to be uninspired on our first game in. The reality is we are a bit slow and have a tired style of play and have had for a half season or so.
I have no doubt Ross will resort to youth and turn our game style around , but it won't happen this week or the derby , more like round 7or 8 and we will attack the finAls Frm the bottom of the 8 with a head full of steam. I'd love to be proven wrong but the proof is generally in the puddin.

Sunday was disappointing, but only in the sense that as a fan you think every match is there to be won. In reality the fix was in on that match: first they scheduled us to play in a timeslot usually reserved for under 10s, and then they arbitrarily rubbed out Sandi to make sure the Bulldogs would kick off their seven straight games at that pathetic excuse for a stadium with a win - I'm sure the hope is that they might be able to attract more than 20,000 people to the MCG when they take on Melbourne in round 8 if they've had a win or two. I would love to know some of the conversations that must be had between clubs and the AFL behind the scenes about things like that. Have a think about some of the stupid things clubs invest in to give their players an 'advantage' so imperceptibly small it can only be psychological, and then contrast the effectiveness of those endeavours (and the money spent on them) with the sort of stuff that Fremantle has to regularly contend with.

I agree that Gold Coast were really impressive - against a 'team' featuring players who were never good enough to have been drafted the first time around, coached by John Worsfold. We will smash them on Saturday.

Agreed , we may have had a bit goin against us last sun.
That doesn't explain a 5 goal game with 6 possessions to the Brownlow medalist to half time. We were hit with a running spread we had/have no Awnser for . We will likely get smashed by the Suns running game as well .

Anyone who thinks RoLy is going to adopt a different game style (with a new 5 year vote of confidence from Steve Central) is kidding themselves. Fyfe manhandled our opening half of last season, and others went with him. This season, he's man-bunning out an average possession game with a wonky spine and we're trying to shore up a defensive back line based around The Spack. Yee gads, we may squeak out a narrow win this weekend in the sun, but only a fool would go to the away derby with an expectation of a close game.

I remember Hase coming out on tv in 2008 (when we were at 1 and 3) saying 'it's too early to press the panic button just yet...' and by the time it was to press the buzzer everyone was too munted to even look for the thing (when we were at 1 win and 10 losses).

I say we dump RoLy and get this squad to play some football.

Let's assume that you're serious about your proposal, who do you suggest Polly, would do a better job? Suma, Hale, Guerra, or maybe Malthouse. Since Roly has been here, we've played finals, 2 prelim, and a GF. Granted no cigar, but a great defensive side with the cattle we've got. Granted, we're finding it difficult to score, but we won 9 out of the first 10 last year, scoring well. We've got stars in our side that didn't line up on Sunday. They're too good a team to not play good football. I'm gutted after Sunday but 21 games to go and we'll get to find out if Roly needs to go. I'll give him the next 21 rounds to make a statement.
