Similar to Shane's first post with Silvagni coming off the interchange list to replace Johnson in the starting team, and C Pearce and De Boer missing out, but Weller in (youth beaut).

Roly's record of 65% H&A game wins since his coaching career began in 2007 is extraordinary. His Rd. 1 wins in that time is even more remarkable. Since 2007, his side have been victorious in all but one game. The lost by 1 point was to the Cats in 2011 at the MCG. So he's won 8 out of 9 round one games since 2007. I reckon the head to head odds of Dogs $1.70, Freo $2.15 is quite remarkable. I know past history means nothing, but history has a habit of repeating itself.

Hypen, you've got the language wrong. It's not 'risk and reward' any more. It's 'continuity and change' — I can see Roly liking that.
Zac D for continuity. Lachie W for change.

I think Weller's name is a WAFL website error Larkin.

There's 23 names on Peel's list. Hopefully the final score is right though. Bad luck Sharks.

Did Wellar not realise he was in the Big Guys team and suddenly rushed off hence the 1 possession and 23 players. Hope East Freo don't realise.

Why are we still playing Z Clarke,
I've never liked him, seems to lack inner fortitude particularly when the odds are down. Front runner, can't read the play, can't mark, too slow. There I think I've covered the lot.

I think too often people confuse the inability of guys over 2m tall to turn on a dime with the absence of inner fortitude. It's possible he's just not very good.

But such calls made about rickman before the age of 25 are often fraught.

Of the people not named in this side, the ones I most want to see come in are A. Sandilands, M. Johnson, H. Bennell, and A. Pearce.

I can barely find enough players in this round's 22 to drop for those four, so I'm not sure how we're s'posed to fit in any fresh young things (other than Pearce the third).

Looking at the teams hard to see why we are underdogs. Seems that top rung of players match up well, our added experience is where we have the edge.
To have the players we have out and be able to put this team together speaks well of our depth.
Fine for home and away.
Need to find a way during the season to match harden the extra touches ofclass that could make the difference come finals time. Can't afford to lose too many games during the year though. Guess that's why it is hard to win a premiership.
Suspect as others do, if Mayne can't get back to his best then Yarran could be more dangerous. If this eventuates hope Yarran can bring it to the next level.

C. Pearce was unlucky not be in the 22. So, glad to see him in. On the AFL site it's been billed as The Pups v The Old Blokes. Geez, how many more descriptors have they got for Freo. Ok, I like Dad's Army.

The reason the odds are so skewed to the Doggies is because of the love affair
that the umpires have with them.
In 2014 we got 4 free kicks in a whole game of footy, a record low.
Assuming we probably kicked ball out of bounds on the full twice we got 2 free kicks in a game.
That's not conspiracy theory........................that's a fact!
Its no wonder we never manage a decent percentage
I wouldnt put too much money on this game

2015 R7 Freo v Bulldogs
Freo win 102-88
Lose free kicks 11 - 25

2014 R11 Freo v Bulldogs
Freo win 89-51
Lose free kicks 4-19

2013 R2 Freo v Bulldogs
Freo win 106 -78
Lose free kicks 19-27
