I love when people make fun of Bond, but reckon you could do a trade for all-Australian talent with guys who aren't within sniffing distance of our best 22, and will likely be delisted at the end of the year.

I'm just glad it's starting early this year.

Or A grade talent that has expressed an explicit wish to come to Fremantle and armed with early draft picks and a surplus of quality mids and rucks Bond couldn't even get other clubs to engage in civil discussion.

The problem with Fremantle is they don't approach trades as a win win thing. They try and fleece the other clubs. But that crap is not sustainable and went out the door ten years ago. A bit like loading 18 blokes into your opponents fwd line. Old hat.

If McCarthy wanted West Coast and West Coast wanted him. He would be playing in the AFL next week.

Bond has his limitations. Bond and the admin harassed GWS, and got nothing back whatsoever. When GWS won't even answer your phone calls to talk, not knowing or caring what they might be prepared to offer, I'm not sure what he's meant to do.

I have that straight from a club employee. And WC would have got the same treatment. GWS were sending a clear message to McCarthy and everyone else, that they were not letting him out of his contract. No matter what.

There's always an excuse.

We might have got them answering the phone if we left a message that Fyfe was on the table.

That would have made everyone happy that Bond could finally seal a deal...

And that excuse is always defended by a spurious comment about having to trade a favourite player.

I hope he's prepared for the inevitable calf injury.

Don't get bitter Shane. No one set out to blow his calf up.

"... Hand and myself plan to go to Perth next week ..." said Wayne Campbell.
It appears my thoughts of him when he was head of umpiring was justified.
Gone to bigfooty where there's fewer Docker Haters.

FFS how much money is that club wasting on flying these jerks back and forth when it would've been so much easier if they had let the lad go last season? GWS just had to look outside their own board room to see that home-sick players always end up back home. Cutting noses off faces springs to mind. It's all come back to bite them.
And that pleases me greatly.

GWS could even look inside their own boardroom to see the go home factor at work.

Yes, definitely double standards in play here - the very guy who was responsible for refusing to let McCarthy come back to Perth due to 'family reasons' has since pulled the plug on GWS to return to Melbourne to spend more time with his own family! Go figure...
