It would be a lot more fun if we had spider cam carrying a bucket of ice (Set for ala ice bucket challenge on zero) following the player for the 30seconds. Don't tell me Barlow with his short jumper and plumbers money slot wouldn't be getting through the kick in record time.

I checked Chris Mayne's set up and kick (for a decisive behind) in the first pre-season match. 28 seconds when he kicked the ball. But, having said that, a hellovalot will depend on when the shot clock is launched. I think it is going to prove to be quite variable. Let's watch the 'fireworks' when we see the inconsistencies in that 'upstairs' action. Who will set the timer - an AFL timekeeper or a TV broadcast director?

I think it is a tremendous idea. What better use of an expensive digital scoreboard than to do everything other than show replays or the game score?

Personally, I love it when a player takes a screamer in the goal square, plops the ball through for a goal, then the big screen replay shows the whole plopping through the goal from the reverse angle but not the big grab. Excitement over real play is so overrated.

Another sportsbet ad opportunity too. T'riffic.
