Great to see Michael Johnson named, 'wishing him all the best health and form for 2016. People talk about the X factor ... I've always felt players like MJ have the Z factor ... that is, they are majestic and seem to slow down time (Mundy is another).
I'm also hoping the likes of MJ (Son-son, & others), can have the positive influence on Harley Bennell to steer him in the direction of a long and prosperous, professional AFL career with Fremantle. Contrary to the opinion I just listened to in the newly downloaded purple reign podcast, I do very much "care what Harley Bennell does outside of football". If I see photos of him snorting white powder in his spare time (again), while playing for Freo, then as a Freo fan, he's dead to me and likely dead to AFL. Fortunately, (for Harley), I think Fremantle is the best place for him to avoid such a career ending event from occurring. We all know Harley has immense talent, but no one AFL footballer, has enough talent to burn through repetitive public displays of improper actions. If Harley works hard and professionally, he has a chance of being revered by hundreds of thousands of Fremantle fans ... an icon of young (and old) indigenous (and non-indigenous) Freo fans.
I'm hoping to get to the third NAB Freo game (Subi @ Sat 12th March) ... mostly to cheer on Harley in a purple jumper.
