WA assets built and majority paid for by WA tax payers, being run by an interstate company whose primary other AFL stadium has been dumped by the teams that play in it becuse its crap, leaves a bad taste in the mouth and a sick feeling in the stomach. I will be foooked if I am paying 1000 clams a season for a basic membership.

One of the main issues for me as a Member was the impact on my membership with my designated seat for the season given that early in the discussions Barnett raised the possibility of selling off Stadium memberships whereby people could buy reserved seats to all events during a year @ the stadium. These were to be allocated prior to any AFL club membership allocations thus raising the issue of how many seated memberships would be available. No mention was made of this in the last few weeks following this decision.

It doesn't matter what Barnett says or does for the state of Western Australia, he always seems to cop a hard time.

What you lot have all failed to recognise is that he's potentially freed up 5,000 hospital beds by rejecting the bid from the consortium that sells the Subi burger.

The bad news is, the consortium that sells the subi burger is separate from the consortium that manages the stadium profits. It's a clever business model. If one was tied to the other, both would go broke in a season or two.

How many VFL organisations are running Victorian stadiums? Something the govt and WAFC might have learnt something from.

Etihad for example is run by a company that is essentially a super fund, has to operate at a profit while carrying debt, then in 2025, after 25 years, gets to hand ownership to the AFL.

That's a great deal for the AFL and not much short term profit.
