yes we all agree Crowley is taking a risk,but we know he is above those around him and will be strong and reliable.

Crowley didn't have much choice in the matter. They had positive test results to wave at him. And the same system that cleared all of the Essendon players also managed to find that Crowley wasn't entirely responsible and cut his penalty in half. He's also more likely to have gained a performance advantage from what he took than the Essendon players and their snake oil.

But he did his time out of the game and Essendon can't afford to be too picky about recruiting. He's clearly the best player available to them. They probably should have snuck him in alongside someone less controversial though.

If they were smart they would have found themselves the best half dozen Aboriginal players from remote parts of Australia and changed the story into something positive.

So according to Walls, a player convicted then done the time should still not be allowed back in the game!!
I assume therefore that come November none of the 34 current or former Essendon players should be allowed to play football again.
Looks like Essendon may need sign their top up players on much longer contracts!!

Another "smart" option would have been to bring in Foxtel, run the process like a reality/gameshow palaver with online public voting etc throughout the season and used the resulting profits to fund their litigation warchest.
