Incredible that the players and Hird still believe they are innocent. I don't see how the players can mount an appeal when these three facts stare them in the face: None of the players or staff at any time bothered to check what they were taking or if it was legal ( my young bloke plays for the Australian junior gridiron team and when you go online to ASADA or WADA to check on supplements, medication etc it is registered and recorded with them), a new test for Thyomin in the system showed elevated levels of this substance in the players urine samples ( this can happen naturally as peoples chemical make ups vary, but for elevated levels to occur across a targeted group is far more than coincidence), and the third factor is when players were asked by ASADA in 2012 if they had taken supplements or had injections during random testing at Essendon they all replied no (failure to report these occurrences is considered the same as a failed test). They are screwed.
