Fyfe for sure. He is turning 25, is comfortable in front of the camera, is already the face of the club, and it might mean he pulls his head in and stops whacking blokes on the field.

If Taylor Walker can captain his club admirably at 25 whilst morning the loss of his murdered coach, despite being a total knucklehead, I'm sure Fyfe can handle the role.

Mundy unlucky, but I'm not sure appointing a Captain who is turning 31 is a great-long term strategy. We should be giving the old bloke less to do, not more.

Mundy and Sandi as his deputies for experience, Spurr and Walters in the leadership group.

I reckon we should give it to Bennell, it's the only way to stop channel weagle & the worst prefacing every mention of his name with "troubled", "wayward" or "maligned". Also would be great to see an indigenous player named captain.

Sorry purple kit but giving it to bennell would be ludicrous. You need to earn the respect of the players first and that cant be done in one pre-season especially for a player like Bennell with his history. Lets not forget that its voted on by the players. My money is on fyfe. Thornton a close second.

Mundy /Sandi as top options,if not for recognition of seniority but to give the next in line time to do a apprenticeship in the leadership group and to continue to play unhindered by the responsibility of captaincy.

Fyfe/Barrlow/Walters in the leadership group,as the captains in waiting.
I would be happy with any of those,as captain and/or vice captains.

Although,a wwf style intro to Subi/Colin pit,announcing the the master of mayhem,the persistent creator of devastation,a chief of chaos,the undisputed mayor of mandurah,yes its the captain of the fremantle Dockers...Hayden Ballantine !.
Has a nice ring to it.

I too read the book. I also learnt a about how articulate and dedicated a captain is. Well done Matty Pav. I like the concept of giving Nat one more year to wait. David Mundy has also been one of our best and loyal too and fits the mould of the humility that freo footy club stands for. I don't think I will be surprised or upset who will be possibly the first man to hold the premiership cup aloft.
