Now that Pav is officially out of the running for the captaincy, who is it going to be? Captain Fyfe sure does have a nice ring to it IMO...

Fyfe is the logical long term choice but his lack of heavy involvement so far in the pre-season may see him overlooked in a players vote if its taken right now.

Mundy and Fyfe co-captains would be a good way to go. Walters vice captain.

News of Pav standing aside brought a tear to my eye. Club first always.

I got the pav book for Xmas. It's littered with past tenses about his career. He clearly had late second thoughts about going around again this season. He could have a blinder letting go of the captaincy.

Mundy is probably a favourite, but he's coming to the end of his career too.

Give it to Fyfe. He needs a haircut anyway.

I also was given the Pav book for xmas and was surprised how much it seemed like a farewell. I thought he was going to play on simply because he was still good enough to go a few more years but reading it has changed my mind.

I'd love to see an old favourite of mine Manic receive the captaincy but it'd only be a stopgap till Fyfe takes over. May as well give it to him now.

It is inevitable that Fyfe will become captain of Freo one day though (and I'm guessing a damn good one) so of course I would be happy with that choice as well.

Mundy certainly deserves to go on the roll as captain.

I'm not sure whether he has the Dust of the Grand Wazoo, but there's one way to find out. He's certainly done the apprenticeship. There's something to be said for allowing Fyfe to develop up to the next level, assuming this is possible.
