TOPIC: Possible Dockers Jumper Numbers

Who has #33 at the moment?
Would love to see Bennell with that number.

The #29 should go to Fyfe if he wants it after Pav finishes. From one legend to another.

Cam Sutcliffe is currently 33. Bennell was 11 at GC - but he can't have that because it's Tom Sheridans - but that could have worked being Des Headland's old number, another WA indigenous player returning from Qld.

But as Ross Lyon says - let the players write their own story. Take a number and make it their own. That's why it'd be weird if Fyfe traded his #7 for Pav's old number. Pav took the number 29 jumper from being meaningless to being a Dockers legend, forever to be associated with him. What new young player would have the kahunas to take the #29 Dockers jumper now? Likewise, arguably no previous Docker had yet made a legend of the #7 jumper - but now it'd take an incredible player wearing #7 in the future to displace Fyfe.

I'd like to see the name Uebergang spelled in correct German from here on. The "Ue" is the anglicised spelling used when your pre-unicode kit can't do umlauts. It should be Ü ie Übergang which means to go over as in a crossing or a transition of some kind, as in a rapid Übergang from the back pocket into attack.

C'mon Steves! We should be seizing the opportunity for yet another first: The first AFL player whose name contains an umlaut. The west may or may not be united whatever, but we are umlauted.

I second the umlaut motion!!!

And to further the project, what's wrong with Apeneß?

I think it's the greatest name ever invented for footy.

You can have your PC translations like fancy transitions, but you just know you want Brian Taylor to see him busting packs wide open and screaming "Look at that. He's flattened the lot. He's an Übergang"
