The AFL Collective Bargaining Agreement mandates we have a team profile which is either:
i. 38 primary (senior) + 6 category A rookies, or
ii. 39 primary + 5 category A rookies, or
iii. 40 primary + 4 category A rookies.
(We can have up to 3 category B rookies as well).
Presently we have 39 players on the primary list, one category A rookie (Smith) and one category B rookie (Hurley).
We are committed to selecting Morabito and DeLuca, so we have two selections available.
We could go one (Pre-season) and one (Rookie) or two (Rookie).
If we select someone in the Pre-season draft he will become our 40th primary list player and we will have four category A rookies.
If we bypass the Pre-season draft and select two rookie draft players, we have the option of promoting someone to the primary list before the 2016 season begins (that would be Morabito if he comes up).
