The reason that the medium Hawthorn forwards kick goals is because the ball is delivered to them in good parts of the ground, kicked to a spot where they have the advantage over their opponent and generally stays low and hits them on the chest.
The rainbow floater to a forward in a 2 on 1 contest hoping the ball goes to ground causing chaos that results in a low % conversion just won't cut it.
Our forwards are not as good as I would like, but they can convert; we just need players with elite disposal that can get it to them.
