One of my late Dad's favourite expressions when he was exasperated.

Have i got everything covered below with regards to our forward line?
I. a 34 yr old on the brink of retirement comes back and is still our No 1 marking option.
ii. our next best prospect (Tabener) has trouble marking the ball and cannot hold down a place in the side.
iii. our other apparent exciting option (Apeness) is not even ready to start training yet as he is still recovering from major knee surgery.
iv. we will continue to use ruckmen as forwards even though it has never worked in previous years.
v. we will expect Mayne to battle out of his weight and height division again.
vi. Fyfe to play more in the forward line, even though he won the award as the best player in the competition as a midfielder.
vii. Mundy-see No vi.
viii. we hope Morabito might be fit and play in the forward line because he's quite tall but is actually a more natural midfielder.
ix. we'll try to make a key forward out of A Pearce even though he seems and looks much more at home in the backline.
x. the rookie draft should be (but probably won't) be full of key forwards and backmen who of course won't be able to play anyway unless we get a long term injury.

xi(i). We've just added Shane Yarran to a forward line featuring two of the best small forward in the business.

Really, all that's needed is (i) for Taberner to improve as much this preseason as he did the last, and (ii) our forward entry strategy to be modified to reflect our strengths, and we'll have a forward line that will cause a lot of trouble for most opposition.

the tainted cup of 06 was won with Q Lynch in their forward line. Just let that sink in for a minute...

Of our most significant losses, McPharlin, well thats huge, but we will see another pre season into Alex Pearce and Sam Collins looks promising. Duffield was in and out of the side and Crowley didnt play this season.

We have recruited in Harley Bennell, who on his day can make fyfe look mortal, Our top 2 draft picks were expected top 15-20 picks and we have got them at 27 and 38.

And we added the WAFL leading goal scorer.

And Morabito returned to the preseason training track.

In 2017 we will add McCarthy to the list as well, so all good.

I think we will shape up ok.

Good to see we have continued to build up our midfielders ..Soon we won't need any backmen because we intend to keep the ball forward of centre.

With the rotations down to 80 next season, teams will likely field players who are versatile. I think Freo's drafting in the last couple of years proves this theory. I'm convinced that Fyfe will spend a lot of time forward. And Barlow will return to his more preferred midfield position. It's going to be very difficult to break in the 22, if the team are fit and available.

Point well made Timmeh, Pav at 54 yrs old would still be better value than the big Q. They also won 2 flags in the 90's without a ruckman, so all the accepted necessaries to win a flag go out the window.
