TOPIC: Weller Weller

RM - that's simply not true, and the last few trade periods have shown that there are a number of sides replete with young talent (due to the expansion clubs) who are screaming out for maturity over another highly ranked youngster in the next draft.

And they want to pay well under the odds for that mature talent, so they are still not trading high draft picks (top 8) that often.

People bag Bondy for not bringing the best talent through the door. I don't always agree, but it's fair to ask the question. But there's no question Bond has done a great job retaining players, and locking existing players up to long-term deals. Plus, of those players that we traded / let walk, how many would get a gig with us now? Half you lot thought letting Michie go was foolish, yet right now Mickey B can't even find time in the middle. No-one reckons that the loss of Broughton of Roberton was the difference between us and a premiership.

People were livid when we took Weller in the draft ahead of a couple of skinny talls. Obviously whether that was a good decision will be answered in the fullness of time, but right now I'm glad he's sticking around for another few years.

It's more fun to make fun of Bondy for his decisions on whether to challenge MRP findings. He's a dead set dud on that score. When Freo finally gives him the boot, he should get a job as a video referee of some sort.

I don't always agree with your opinion Morgan, but that post is pretty accurate, and the last paragraph exceedingly so, almost put a mouthful of coffee into the screen when I read the video ref bit. Even Bond couldn't stuff things up that badly however, so he would be a failure at that too.

I heard he was becoming an air traffic controller.

What could go wrong ...

Skinny talls were they Morgan. I thought they were highly talented 19 y.o key position players.

The predicament Fremantle finds themselves in is inexcusable and points to a failing in list management strategy.

I cancelled my membership today and wont come back to the club until they make an effort to bring tall fwds to the club and implement a game plan that risks a little to gain a bit more.

I am tired of being frustrated and now choose ambivalence.

You can't be ambivalent when Harley's home; you can be ambivalent if you've sat through the fifth day of the WACA test - which means you never wore a melon over your head nor did you tempt the coppers by making a cup snake.

I was there on the 1st day. Believe me given the line to get a beer, if you had enough cups by the end of the day you would not have seen a ball bowled in anger.

No great loss I guess.

I'm concerned that you're making cup snakes only out of cups you've drunk from.

Although it would explain why you could never stay afloat in the Choc Carton Regatta
