I think we have done well, and whilst CmC would have been the icing, I believe securing a number 2 draft pick from a few years ago and who is a proven midfield jet and a goal kicking mid at that cant be underestimated!

Talk is we need to pick up 600 points over a season to catch the Hawks (or a hundred goals), I don't buy that as the difference between us and hawks in the final was not an ability to score it was an ability to score accurately! 19 shots to 17 shots and 27 points (79% accuracy to 59%).

So first off Bennell has added potentially 35 goals to our potential or 10 points a game lifting us from 84 to 94 points a game, working on the accuracy and we catch hawks.

Harley was #2 but should've been #1 - he has a couple of years in body development and a lot of nouse added in. That's overs for #17, way/way overs.

But I think those Orange Penrith blokes have asked for a proper hiding next time we play - no more surge in the first and then sluff out the game for a 60pt'er - I reckon 180+ pts would be a reasonable result in 2016.

I'm more of a leg man.

We went after two players. One we got for slightly more than we had hoped, but substantially less than what he is worth. The other? It turns out he wasn't for sale in the first place. The club did as well as they could have done.

End of the day the only thing of value we really gave up was next years 2nd round pick. Our first pick only shifted back 5 spots, we got our original pick 2 pack and we picked up bennell. McCarthy would have been nice, and at the end of the day, you could have traded your first round pick for Redden and replaced your back up ruckman with giles.

Personally, I dont think we can rate this trade Period until we find out in a few weeks/months/years exactly what it was GWS wanted for Cam, this "not for sale" line is nonsense, every player has a price, we refused to trade a player so GWS refused to trade. Until we know categorically what they wanted we can't judge if bond & Lloyd were just being stubborn or if GWS really did want way more than was reasonable. I still think Clarke with a pick would have got it done, unfortunately GWS had a back up plan in getting Simpson as a free agent, something we did not have. On the other hand....

Terry Wallace rated us much higher - He gave us a B+ and was glowing on the recruitment of Bennell.
Nothing more we could have done for Cammac - He was never being released by GWS as they try to take a stand
