Yes but all the stationery was accounted for at the end of the two weeks. All the little things that make a football club run effeciently were accounted for on completion of an inventory.

First impression is that we haven't improved our list anywhere near as much as other clubs. Whether or not they have gone past us is something we wont know until next season. It seems much easier for Victorian clubs to get the Vic kids to come home.

The inability to land/develop a 60 goal a year key forward in 6-7 years is much more damning.

Some of them didn't actually go home. Dixon Qld to S.A., Aish S.A. to Qld to Vic, Bastinac Vic to Qld, Redden S.A. to Qld to W.A. are some I can think of.

That's just become another excuse for Bond & co.

Here's a list of the tall key forwards from the last 5 or so years that are capable of kicking 60+goals in a season;
Franklin
Roughead
Hawkins
Schulz
Kennedy
J.Riewoldt
Cameron
Cloke
Tex Walker
& Pavlich

They are hard to find and even harder to trade for.
Freo made offers to Cloke and most of us were glad we didn't get him.
Blaming Bond for not having a magic wand is a little unreasonable in my opinion.

That the 2015 minor premiers was rated a C- after trade week, sharing the honour with GWS. So it's the worst rating of all 18 clubs after all the hype. I'm not sure whether to congrats Bond and Lloyd for their efforts in getting what the club wanted without paying through the nose or to acknowledged that their efforts for making us a stronger club was once again wasted.

I learnt that in trade week, people completely over-rate the value of a bunch of players that either can't make the best 22 for their teams or aren't in their best.

Reading through the list, there are only a handful of players that have been traded that are currently in the top bracket of their club (and we have one of them). Dangerfield is the other that springs to mind.

I further learnt that people assess "how well your club did in trade week" in terms of their quantity of said fringe players that have been traded into your club.

... I must be a glass half full man.
... because I thought if Freo scored an Elite player of the competition for a high 1st round pick, still end up with 2 2nd round picks, keep all their required players, then that would be a pretty good trade period.

But apparently, if you try to recruit a player from GWS, who are unwilling to look at an offer of overs, for a player who they have no long term future with and will be lucky to get the same offer again ... then that brings about criticism and damnation of Freo's trade success.

Learnt that we only managed to get one player, who admittedly should be a jet. Also that the player had been sacked by his club, had stated he wanted to go nowhere else and yet we still gave up our number one pick for him.

I then learnt that we spent the rest of the time chasing one other player whose club said from the start were never going to let him go. Also by the last couple of days his manager was saying the same thing and yet we still didn't have a second option worth trying out for when this was obviously going to fall over.
