Looked at the draft candidates around pick 22 that we possess at present. Riley Bonner( No. 22) is a South Australian (and they're dependable for us), but he's an accurate kicking half-back which could enable some other arrangements for the forward line. Also backman Kieran Collins at No. 19, but we'd be lucky to have him drop to us as he's a known strong bodied defender that'll attract attention. Possibly Mitchell Hibberd ( pick 25 currently) as he's a 19 y.o. Tasmanian showing endurance and the top in the kicking test. As for dedicated forwards this late in the draft, there's Harry McKay (No. 20) if he drops to us. At 200cm and 95kg is a nice size to replace Pav with. Other than that its a plethora of mid-fielders of which we definitely don't need any more.

I think 22 is a bit high for Levi, Personally i would rather see Apeness/Taberner getting the go rather than trading for Levi but I wouldn't be disappointed.What do you guys think Croziers value is on the market? i like him in purple but he has never really grabbed him chances.

De Boer, Barlow and Casboult miss 3 last quarter gimme goals in the 2016 prelim.
The last missed goal, after a strong mark by Casboult sucks all momentum and confidence from the side and Freo go down by 7 points.

I wouldn't bother getting casboult, he cant kick. Its looking like we have to devolp what we got on our list. Maybe rotate midfielders like fyfe, mundy and bennell through the forward line.

I reckon Sonny and Ballas would like a big pack marking and crashing forward to feed and crumb off instead of having to do far too much of the hard muscle work themselves.

I'd take both Casboult and Black (who most pundits think is certain to be wearing purple in 2016) if we can't get McCarthy. Fyfe spends more time forward. I'd play Pav in the backline in his last year (premiership year). Please don't retire yet Pav you still have much to offer! Key backs would be Johnson, Pav, Pearce, Silvagni and Dawson + Ibbotson, Spurr, Hill and Sutcliffe.

Pav could play on as an impact player. With the 4 interchange players, you might be able to have a wildcard player coming on for spells and spending time on the bench. It would be a different prospect for opposition teams planning and matching up on him when he's not "the captain" of the forward line. We've got to move on immediately from making him the one who organises how the rest of the forward line sets up.

You could still throw him deep on occassions, but with his kick and his smarts he could practically play anywhere in bursts. His efforts were mighty in the last quarter against Sydney in the finals presenting up through the middle of the ground. He wasn't outmarking his opponent, but he was doing stuff that kept the ball out of Sydneys possession - holding off his opponent, tapping it on to advantage, forcing stop-plays.

Take the pressure of the general captaincy off him and he plays as a high-class roleplayer (in a Stewart Dew 2008 GF kind of way). Someone still capable of kicking 3 in a final.

Hard to know why Pav has not put our minds at rest yet. Could be the old body, could be the family, could be getting tired of the same old grinding routine year after year.
But I reckon he is just waiting to see if we land Cam. It would take the pressure off him being the main man, the no.1 defender going to Cam. He probably hasn't had the freedom of having less than two defenders on him for a decade. That would be enough for him to go round for one last ride.
