Burgoyne and Gunston come to mind as well. They also off loaded one Buddy Franklin. If I remember well they also picked up a Stuart Dew (ex-Port) just in time to help them win the 2008 Flag.
It's a pretty impressive talent pool. Keeping the amount of talent together all under the salary cap and have them all fit and firing at the pointy end of the season is no ordinary feat.

The competition is even if you take Hawks out of the equation. Though the fixture can make it more even by the travel schedule. But this year we saw the Hawks travelling to WA twice in 3 weeks, with the oldest list and still win the flag. But I like the fact that we're targetting WA kids to come back. So are WC.

They can afford not to use their first round picks because when they had a multitude of very jog first round and priority picks in the early to mid 2000s they secured Hodge, Franklin, Roughead, Lewis and Rioli. With that group the rest of your team could be clones of Chris Masten and you'd still start flag favourites every year.

I think in the 2013 GF we had two first round picks to their 7 or 8.

Hawks have done a straight swap with North for Anderson and picks. looks like their complicated 3 way deal is now off the table.
