To think that I was going to hear some positive news about Bennell and Cammac. Well after hearing Brad Lloyd, I'm more likely to get a scoop on 6PR. Everyone on DL is bashing Bondy about his role in trading and drafting. I think the blame must now be on Lloyd. Seriously, if you've just only completed the diligence now on Bennell given Suns sacked him several months ago, then what the hell took him so long. I think Lloyd has been avoiding the radar because of our focus on Bondy. Time we adjusted our aim.

Contracts mean nothing nowadays when it comes to negotiating. In fact it's better to have a player contracted isn't it as then they can't just nominate where they want to go. Not sure though. We also just re-signed Crozier and his name has been thrown around as a trade.
If that was the case who do we have that's not signed that we could trade then?

Why would he want to hang around until Sandi and Griff leave to be be our #1 ruckman when he could get a regular game somewhere else. As others have pointed out here, Hannath has perhaps passed him as the next in line anyway.

And if he's our #1 prospect heaven help us. He appears to play with no heart and for a bloke his size I don't think i've seen him put his body on the line or even split packs too often at all. We all have a joke about NicNat's stats but Clarke's have fallen to his level or below, and he's never going to win as many ruck knocks as Sideshow Bob.

So to translate that into trade talk - Clarke is a required player that we think has a huge upside but no player is off the table at this time of the year and we'd certainly have to do due diligence on any offer presented and determine how that fits with our list management model.

Not only that, but according to our list management model,Clarke is a required player, although no player is off the table, if any offer presented is beneficial to all parties involved, and provided that due dilligence is done on any such probable trade negotiations, which may or may not see players with incredible upsides finding their way back home to a state of their choice, during this trade period.

Recently contracted (a month ago) means his manager would've been testing the waters at that point and not locking him into another contract at Freo if he and Freo didn't want him here. It's much more difficult to trade a player who has a contract and other clubs are much less likely to want to deal with us as we hold all the cards. Hendrix is going nowhere.

The one year deal that Zac Clarke recently signed to the end of 2016 would probably have something to do with him being available to other clubs as a restricted free agent at the end of the next year.
