TOPIC: A kick in the Guts

Just typical, We sacrifice a loyal servant of the club like Crawley, Surely he deserved at least a year's contract after his previous hard yards at the club, he's trained hard to be avail if needed at the end of this season and this is how we reward him? I thought Freo were better than this but obviously not eh Ross??

I love Crowley, his commitment and passion to the club has always been on display. BUT he knows not to take any medication that was not given to him by the club docs. Taking methadone is dodgy, and the club has obviously frowned upon it.

I love the guy's playing too. But he knew exactly what he was doing, and paid for it. Loyalty works both ways. He let the team down.

Crowley will be remembered fondly but he's got no one the blame but himself, it's completely understandable to me that the club haven't offered him a new deal, all the same thank you crowls for the memories. In 2013 Crowley was the talk of the afl with his entertaining shutdown jobs on the games best. He can hang up the boots content that he got the most out of his talent.

He's got nothing to hide. If he comes here, he'll be told what's expected. Crowley unfortunately, will be a reminder of what happens when you don't repay trust.

Crowley is 31 years old. He would be 32 years old in the 2016 AFL season. Only 211 and the Pav are older and still on the Freo list.

I think it's a little sad that people are assuming Crowley was dropped because of his drug suspension.

For me, the club and Crowley have handled the whole situation as professionally as possible.
In any case, a huge Thankyou to Crowls for playing the unpopular tough role for the team and doing it with a smile on his face. Thanks for giving it your all
Gone to bigfooty where there's fewer Docker Haters.

I know we like to romanticise what our club stands for, but this isn't a suburban club of amateurs volunteering their time; FFC is a business, with a plan for future success that evidently doesn't include Crowley any longer.
Offering him an extra year's pay for no other reason than rewarding his loyalty would be a waste of wages and a roster spot. The club owes him nothing but gratitude now, he's been paid handsomely for his years of service.
No time for sentimentality, if the coach doesn't see him in next year's team, then seeya later and thanks for all the fish.

It's all very well accusing Crowls and saying he brought it upon himself, but make no mistake he'll play probably two more seasons at another club and he'll be the best run-with tagger in the comp again. Our midfield will just be another who cops it from him.

It'll be hard seeing Crowls running around in another jumper - particularly a club which I particularly dislike. Imagine if he went for a reunion with Harvs and goes to Essendon? As long as he doesn't go there or Carlton or Tigers. It'd be unthinkable if the Hawks thought they could use him.

It's alright. Sure, the kick hurt at first but the pain killers he had in his pocket sorted that out soon enough.

Yeah I can see both sides but personally I would have liked him to play on and finish on a high note if a suitable role was available.
Hate to see him on another team but if he'd did I'd give him a cheer when he stepped onto Domain again.

You'd think the least that could be done would be spelling his name correctly.
