Pav had played 335 AFL games for Freo. He'll be 34 in Dec. But he still commands the No. 1 defender from the opposition. And he deserves a premiership. I think he's got 15 more games in him next year, culminating in a premiership. Do the math. 12 home games and 3 finals. Pav's done the math. He's playing on.

I was at the big fella's book launch today and he genuinely seemed undecided. He desperately wants a flag but he is such a professional I don't believe he will play on unless he thinks he can see out a full season (or the best part of it). His own standards are too high to be a a part time player and I doubt that would be best for the team.

My gut says he's going round one more time.

The only thing it depends on is Matthew, even if he plays limited games his experience alone is worth having around (not on a large wages though)

If he plays on - he need only play the last few games and finals - he has certainly earned it - and if we trade well it's Possible imagine haven a fit and firing pav in Sept

Sultan I was at the book launch too.

He said his two and a half year old daughter says dad should play footy.

I say we back up her position. He should listen to his daughter.

Wise decision from pav's daughter, she should probably replace bond for trade week :)

I'm with young Harper, I think Pav should play on: partially in a mentor role, partially as Superman. I'm thinking he'll be brilliant in the former role, and I've seen him consistently excel in the latter role over many seasons. BTW, very, very sad about losing both Paul Duffield and Ryan Crowley in one fell swoop. Especially the man who made every haircut look like a handsome monkey's dream: Ryan Crowley. But also the softly spoken, unassuming but silken skilled Paul Duffield. Their professionalism and passion for the team I love made me very happy over many seasons of football, including games where we had terrible losses, and I thank them both.

Gut feel says he goes round once more, not as captain, will mentor Fyfe.
I think he will play limited game time and perhaps not travel too often.
He is still at 33 years of age, our best forward and easily fits into our best 22.
Even if we do get McCarthy he should stick around to be a mentor.
The fact that we delisted so many today is a positive sign.

I agree Pav deserves a guard of honour and a premiership medal round his next, the game against Hawthorn wasn't a good enough farewell for me, on that alone, i hope he plays on and has one last chapter to write in that book!

Pav play on!
Let's chase the big one with you again.
Bennell and another key forward (traded or home grown) to help Pav lift the cup will be a thing of beauty.
Glory awaits.
