To kinda sorta counterbalance the Ballantyne thread...

Sandilands would have to be the hardest done by in the afl.

It's like in under 10's when the short fellas need a leg up from the umpire just so they get a kick and not get jacked off and leave the sport.

But this is the highest level of a multi million dollar professional sport. You can't penalise players (or expect more of them than the average joe in order to pay them a free kick or mark) simply because they have the physical attributes to give them an advantage in the game.

Spot on.

First time I have seen him question the umpires decisions for a long time.

It appears that the umpires have decided that the ruck rule interpretation doesn't include grappling with him, or the holding down to allow a third man up.

Maybe he needs to openly question these things, rather then just shrug his shoulders and move on.

There can be no defence of the umpires on this one!

He obviously needs to flap like a bird ala Dean Cox. He will have guys hanging on for dear life and might get the odd free here or there. Alternatively turn ultra aggressive so players fear him as he should be feared.
