I read it in two sittings, Here is what I picked up:
1. He really loves Ross Lyon and was craving a coach like him all his career
2. He really loved Josh Carr, Leigh Brown, Shauny Mac, Modra, Chris Scott, Sandi, Luke Mac, Ballas and Haze.
3. He doesnt name enough names. He gives a lot of bakes for unprofessional and lazy players but never names them (apart from Tarrant and Solly)
4. There is spelling, grammar and small factual mistakes in the book - it must have been rushed.
5. Sonny Walters was off the rails much more than we realised around draft time and first year
6. Mark Harvey was lucky to keep his job for as long as he did
7. He is constantly amazed at what recruiters see in some players.....How did they get drafted? Once again he doesnt name names. He admits he got Barlow wrong...At first training session he was doing kick to kick with Barlow and not once did he hit a target. Pav was dumbfounded until the first pre season game.
8. Apart from Port and Adelaide, Collingwood, Carlton and the Gold Coast made big plays for him at certain stages. There was an unnamed club early in the piece offering silly money and outside deals also
9. He still cant believe Chris Judd got off the elbow to his cheek
10. We regularly baked eagles in derbies about their drug culture and outside interests
11. He credits Chris Bond for turning the club around from an unorganised semi professional outfit to the well run professional club it is today. He talks of him in very glowing terms which goes against most on this site.
Overall, really enjoyed it but wanted a bit more beefy internal workings stuff, maybe if the book came out well after retirement he would have let the guard down a bit more...7/10
