Geez Dockerknockers, we will keep playing Dawson for the simple fact that we don't have depth with talls in defence, but you can't defend him for that effort against his ex-team mate McEvoy, and say it was the fault of Mzungu and Sutcliffe for leaving him one-on-one, as you did in another post.
Dawson was side by side, the ball wasn't kicked to any significant advantage and McEvoy just pushed him aside like Dawson was a first year player. Ragdolling, is what they call it. A similar incident happened in the 2013 GF when he was pushed aside by Gunston.
I also thought Johnson was too loose on occasions in the 1st half, zoning off on Shoenmakers.
Together, both of them as key defenders were a little too rusty when it came to the amount of game time they played leading into finals, as was evident in some of the lead up games - Johnson in the Derby, Dawson vs North Melbourne. Maybe they should have both played against Port Adelaide in round 23.
