I know it's not good to hold on to anger, but I do wonder what might have been if Sam Mitchell hadn't corked Fyfe. We will never know what other records could have been broken and how we would have fared with a fit Fyfe in the race to the GF. Every time I see or hear Sam Mitchell, I think what a low act that was. I hope karma catches up with him.

No, any time at all will do. He is a weak sniper and his actions did affect Freos chances for the rest of the season. A fit Fyfe in the Prelim would have had the Hawks more on the defensive, and may have meant that RoLy would take a chance on Crowley.

A career ending break in the 3rd would be karma.

Fyfe was probably carrying an injury before Mitchell kneed him. We dropped off noticeably well before Mitchell sniped him.

Also, it's a bit of a stretch to blame a fractured ankle on a corked thigh. Mitchell still sucks despite that.

I'll take Fyfe's opinion on that one Drubbing

His numbers were solid in the games leading into the Hawks game R15 dropped off considerably in that game and the next v Carlton. Improved against Richmond but then missed 2 wks. We all know the rest of the story.
Yeh nah I'm sticking with Fyfe's version of events.

The anger from Friday's prelim can only be appeased if both teams were to lose the GF and the umpires from the prelim banned for life from officiating Freo games.

The corked thigh caused all the problems for Fyfe leading up to the Prelim final. The leg was probably fractured when the hawks player attempted to inflict damage on the stress fractures Fyfe carried into the game, the first time Fyfe went near the ball.

The corkie definitely could have caused it and Fye said so himself. It's a stress fracture caused by over use or abnormal weight bearing. These guys are like race horses their leg power is so strong you only need to get a little out of balance to over stress bones or tendons.

I’m still angry but in an attempt at some self-help that doesn’t involve chanting, I have compiled a ‘get it off my chest’ list.
i) The Hawk’s did not earn their place in the GF. This makes me angry.
ii) My anger grows when I hear people saying we were not good enough. How will we ever know if we were good enough when the game was influenced so greatly by the umpiring? People who say ‘well we just weren’t good enough’ should shut up and stop copping it sweet. It doesn’t make you a better person, it makes you a target.
iii) I think just coping it on the chin is weak and the fans deserve better. If the mantra of ‘focusing on things that you can influence’ is correct then Freo should be banging down the door of AFL house and demanding better treatment next year.
iv) I’d rather have Ballas in my team than Mitchell. One is tough and pays hard, one is a sniper. It’s not about who is better, it’s about what your team represents.
v) I’m ok with losing fair and square but we didn’t.
Ok I’m done but still angry.

Don't always agree with you Troll, but this is right on the money. I would double you beaut your point on Ballas, he is a hard at it ball player, and most of his "indiscretions" are as a result of umpires ignoring the "indiscretions" committed on him.
