Now we have Jeremy Howe's name being thrown around as coming to Freo. By my calculations in the last month all or some of the following are like to be playing for us next season.

Have I missed anyone?

Actually it does make a nice change from no-one wanting to come here and surely not even Bond could stuff all of those up........could he?

Bennell and McCarthy would be unbelievable. I am hoping that we can secure McCarthy and this swings Pav's decision to play another year as a foil with ability to manage his body. IMO still better 2nd option than others we have available and allows Tabs to be the third tall and places pressure on Mayne to find another position or fill in when Pav is rested.
All the rest of them are window dressing.

As a curve ball I still remember rumors earlier in the year linking Sandi to Gold Coast on big money. Now with us linked to Leunberger could this, with our first round draft picks for the next 2 years be the name that gets both Bennell and McCarthy across. I know there are arguments against, most compelling being Sandi's age, but his form is still very good and body sound. Could this be a win win for both, a big pay day for Sandi and relief on our salary cap with the addition of younger blood.

In answer to your question DBTS - no. Sandi and Fyfe are the deadliest stoppage combination in the comp. Take one of them away and we quickly go back to the pack (as was seen with our win/loss record after Fyfe was injured).

I take your point Flag, but Fyfe has already predicted himself spending more time forward next year, and despite Sandi's dominance we haven't been able to achieve the ultimate success, whilst other teams without a clearly dominant ruck man have over recent history.
Something out of the ordinary is going to have to happen to get these players here especially if we want both. I agree Sandilands has been an icon at our footy club and only propose this should Sandi be open to the deal. I can only imagine how happy Gary Ablett would be receiving service from the big man.

I would be happy with Howe, Mcarthy and Tabs or Pav in the forward line with the two mighty midgets. It might show Mayne that it's more important to kick goals rather than chase tail.

I like Mayne but we need him to kick goals like he did a few years ago. If he's not kicking goals he's of no value.

We need to do whatever we can to get Bennell and McCarthy to Fremantle if it means giving up most of our picks this year then so be it. Also the way Ross can bring out the best in most people do you think Jack Watts would be worth a try.
