It might have been a very frustrating day if we got through with Luke and Fyfe out and Pav struggling to get up with a corky. I didn't want to lose the Prelim but I would have been even more ticked off limping into the GF with some top players out.

That's been my only consolation - it's one thing to lose a Prelim to Hawthorn at home, but it's a completely different kettle of fish losing to the Slime in the Big Dance with arguable 4 of our best players either missing (Fyfe and AA Luke) or playing severely restricted due to injury (Pav and AA Johnno).

That's something Slime supporters would NEVER let us forget - as would we to them if the shoe was on the other foot.

I guess all teams have injury and fitness concerns come finals time.
How is it that we haven't been able to field our best team fit and firing at the business end of the season in the last three campaigns?
I thought this year we were going to manage our players better.
BTW with the injuries we had we may have struggled in a GF without some serious medico intervention.

It's been reported that both Pav and Fyfe would not have been 'fit' to play in the GF had we beaten Hawthorn.
Luke would have played.
How would we have felt barracking for Freo to win the flag with Pav and Fyfe sitting on the pine?
And what would our chances of victory have been?
