I was probably among the minority who would have preferred Hendrix out there tonight but Griff stood up well and took some strong marks. If he kicked that second goal it might have been a different game but he did his job. Very hard for a bloke playing his (or Hendrix) position in a RL coached side with the way we structure up but Griff was much better than the likes of Tab.

I've always rated griffin and am pleased he is with us for another year. He is reliable and consistent, good overhead and kicks a few goals. Clarke needs to get his hands right.

Happy with griff's game. He should have had a senior player running up to him at half time and telling him to slow down and take it easy. He took the kick as if he had somewhere to be. I would have liked to have seen Sandi and Griff rotated more in the forward line instead of Sandi playing ruck or bench whilst Griff was forward or ruck. The fact of the matter is, a kick to a pack that includes Sandi is a very different proposition to a kick to a pack that includes Griffin.

I'm a big fan of Griff. He showed his prowess as a ruck-forward a couple of years back with a bag of goals in the WAFL finals.

Why he slipped behind Clarke (when not injured) was a mystery.

He was super last night and showed why we need to invest faith in him for next year.

It's hard to take marks when your opponents can hold, push, chop your arms and pretty much anything else that is paid as free kicks to other ruckman - but is allowed against him.
But as soon as Sandi holds his ground at ruck contests he's pinged for 'shepherding'.
