- When they need a free kick or a blind eye, Hawks got it
- Griffin was one of our best last night despite trying to take advantage of the half time squabble
- Gu did have a mare, but mares kick not handball so another word might be apt
- too many passengers in the midfield (Pearce, Neale); stop complaining about the forward line because if the midfield cant deliver the ball the forwards dont have much of a chance
- farewell AA Luke, it will be hard for him to submit to retirement but it would be better for the club for those with long term injury problems to bow out
- too many similarities to the 2013 GF, our backline made too many costly errors when it mattered, the umpires, the peppering of goals

Big games seem to make our boys more nervous than usual. Some were overawed by the occasion similar to the 2013 GF.
In the last qtr when we started to make a run for it and looked the goods we weren't able to make it count on the scoreboard. A couple of misses and a free not paid to SonSon 15m from goal steadied the hawks and the rest is consigned to history. And history will say that Freo lost by 27pts but only those who saw the game will really know how it unfolded and how close we were to making the GF.

ii. 'natural arc' is a flexible concept when compared with 'playing on'
iii. kicking goals from free kicks in F50 is a vital skill for footballers
