I believe we can do this, coz Tendai & Griffin are in. It's a symmetry thing I believe. Balance, equilibrium or whatever you want to call it. A good feeling,?& not just because I've been drinking in high temperatures!

Roly & co have picked a team that will stand up to the physical and unsociable Hawks style. The deciding factor in the game will be whether we can handle the Hawks pace.

Deciding factor will be who reads Sandi the best. Won't have to worry about Hawk's pace if we have the ball!

I hope to see Pav, Tabs and Griff/Sandi drag the Hawks' backs in different directions all over the forward 50, so those who are on Mayne, Son Son and Ballas can't get to a 1 on 1 as a third man or feel they can't leave those three on their own. Make the buggers work!

Hawks pace shouldn't be a problem over 4 quarters with:

i) warmer weather
ii) a week's rest for Freo

Deciding factor will be getting enough kicks on goal and putting them through. Too often we flange the ball in there and it comes back out again without a shot. Or we kick too many points when we have momentum.

The key to winning is everything Ross talks about after a loss.

i) Convert inside 50's into goals. Behinds and turnovers are unacceptable.
ii) Don't turn the ball over with poor disposal or dumb decision making.
iii) Win the contested ball and apply manic pressure to win the ball.

2013 PF win over Sydney is the blueprint, even though we didn't kick straight that night. But the boys did enough to put scoreboard pressure on.

2014 SF - poor kicking cost us the win when could have iced it by halftime but ran out of gas.

2015 PF - our entire squad is rested with no travel vs a team that has had no rest and two trips to Perth. There are no more excuses, they're either good enough or they're not.

Go Freo.

What I know is that, travelling to Perth, twice in two weeks, will be their downfall. Roly has timed this to perfection. This is where they wanna be. The Hawks will be doing a lot of running and they'll fatigued a lot quicker due to their travel schedule. They have not been in this situation ever. In 2013 prelim, we pummelled Sydney. Friday night, we'll put them to the sword. And to Frawley, thank god, you said no to us.

Watched the final against Sydney again yesterday and it has me convinced we are going to win this tomorrow. Although it wasn't pretty and all the accolades were for "brave" Sydney, Freo were extremely hard at every contest and will be very tough to beat. In the 3rd quarter alone Sydney kicked 2 miracle extremely lucky goals and freo missed 4 golden opportunities. Stick half of them and it would have been a blow out. Tough contested footy is what Freo are built for. The last time Hawks had a contest in Perth they got belted. Time to bring the pain.

Win the 50:50 ball at the contest
Don't turn it over when we get it.
Get it off them when they have it.

Rolys 3 laws of football. Its a simple game apparently.
