I'd much prefer a fan with decent business sense and experience were elected than a past player (let alone one who's dislike of most attributes of the club is public knowledge) but I was behind Pants in her election to the board and she played a major role in the destruction of many parts of our club that I loved so who knows.

I just want someone who adequately represents us and our interests rather than catering to the Steve's.

If an ex-player works in the media they need to keep their alliance off air. Or at a minimum don't make it highly visible. That's the unwritten rule. This can can produce an overreaction at times, overdoing the critical. I bet every ex-player in the media has upset his home supporters. I've heard, for example, Lingy say some disparaging things about Geelong.

Belly doesn't have to be the club sycophant for life which seems to me what some of you expect. Toughen up.

From what I've seen, Belly is a pretty smart bloke and would probably make a good committed board member.

Bell doesn't have to be a sycophant. But white anting is the poorest of form. I don't care what Cameron Ling said about his club. He wasn't the captain of it for 4 years during a period when it was all struggle.

If Bell's present-day attitude irks, then what does one make of Justin Longmuir, assistant coach of the Weagles? Here he is actively plotting our demise, the one who was responsible for one of the top moments of my Freo fandom life. Thank goodness Hilly's 2013 run from the boundary/interchange in Geelong has supplanted Justin's mark and goal, or else I'd go fully mental.

I agree though that fronting a Freo Foundation is a bit of an affront, given that the word 'Foundation' implies some charitable connotation; but then again, JC himself couldn't make that endorsement work.

It would be nice if the Member Elected Board member was actually someone that the members could endorse, rather than an ex-employee of the club. IMO the members have not been well served by any of their elected representatives. Pants' last act was to split the vote! Ensuring the Admin endorsed candidate succeeded. If the Admin wants past players on the Board, shunt one of their business types.

Who replaced the AwFuL Commissioner?
