Zac has lost his Moxy. He is not right somehow and does not look like the player from 2013/14. I have defended him to all and sundry as I thought he would come good this year especially after his start. Alas for some reason he seems to have gone backwards. Watching him train its hard to believe that a person his size can move so athletically with a good turn of speed. That just does not translate to a game, he now looks like Nearly Nat when he had his groin issues and was great for five minutes a quarter, is he still suffering from that leg injury maybe? Griffin is a better contest player but if he cant get up then I think Hannaths effort yesterday in the final for Peel should get him into the team ahead of Zac C.

"Zero desperation, lost interest, no effort, doesn't put in 100%, plays like Jane, no mongrel." Most of those can't be observed. They are just what you've read into actions. You know what makes it hard to make second efforts? Being a 203cm beanpole. Based on those descriptions, the best advice would be to frown more when he players, or whack some blokes behind the play.

Our team lacks marking power. Clarke marks the ball more than Griff, despite apparently playing with less effort. He sticks roughly the same number of tackles. Hendrix gives us a couple more effective disposals a game.

Credit to Purple Kit and Jooter, who at least tried to give an actual example of the type of play that upset them. But watch Sandi when he plays forward. Unless the ball is landed right on his head, he has trouble getting to the contest.

As for Hannath, again he looks like he is giving greater effort, but gives us next to no output when he plays. Certainly way less than Griff and Zac.

If perceived effort was what selection was based on, we'd have a team of Nick Subans and SCOSs. We'd also lose every game by 100 points.

TGTI:
Looks like Hendrix, sounds like Mark Knopfler?

Looks like we are in dire straits then...

Interesting that Ross Lyon himself said he tries not to get too caught up in stats and reviewing certain parts of games over and over, he prefers to believe what he sees before him with his own eyes. In the games that Sandi and Griff have played together they have kicked goals regularly and seem to have a chemistry, they work better together. Griff has presence where Zac has none, opposition players don't see him as a threat any longer. I remember games where Zac C played off a wing for periods in games, what has happened to his explosive pace and speed around the ground? This is why I ask if his injury has somehow affected his ability to be our highly mobile ruckman. I like him as a player because he reminded me of how Longmuir played in the ruck for us, but without his mobility and leap he just is not physically strong enough to be a tap ruckman like Sandi. Could he be transformed into a beast up forward as he would not have to cover so much ground, meaning he would be able to stay in the contest longer, he is a decent kick.

Drop Clarke. Play Tabs and Alex and use Dawson to ruck when Sandi takes a breather. Hannath too slow, Grif noble but not the answer either.

I remember when Dockerland used to laugh at Toast fans for turning on their own.

Or Flinchy McPhee, or 'ol Solly, or McManus.

This isn't the first scapegoat-I mean player.

I miss McPhee. No goat has been able to escape quite like him.

It was interesting to listen to Roly last night, both him and Brad Hardie actually thought Clarke did pretty good....I guess there must be KPI's that he must hitting that is only known internally...

I remember watching Hendrix rip the Dogs apart at a game played in Bunbury when he first started. He played on the wing and was clearly best on ground. I agree he looks very slow now and does not seem to have any fight or desire to perform better each game.
I think they need to get someone like Danny Green down there to fire them up before games.
Theres a lot of players for Freo that seem to find an extra gear when they get fired up....so fire them up!!!!
