By rule, Freo has to draft 3 players this year.

But given the performances of our young guys against Port, I'd be totally comfortable if we gave away every draft pick to get both McCarthy and Bennell.

We have sufficient backmen, ruckmen and midfielders. Next year all these young guys will be playing. We don't need any more.

Said it before and I'll say it again Zac C for McCarthy and if GWS want to play hardball we trade our second round pick for their third as well which should only drop our pick 36 to mid 40s

What if...Freo had a forward line of Mcarthy Tabener and Ballas, with Son Son, Bennell and Mayne/Divey J on the half forward line?
I know I know...I cant stand Divey either, but didnt he kick 40 odd this year?
Thats better than all our "kpp's"
And he might bring some much needed free kicks to our forward line ;)
You gotta admit...it looks pretty potent.
Im pretty sure Bennell has kicked 6 in a game before...I really rate him.

Any list manager who traded McCarthy for Zac Clarke should get sacked.

I'm not even sure our first pick plus Clarke gets the deal done.

To flip it would you give up Alex Pearce for Clarke? I wouldnt ... Alex is a 2nd year KPP who baring injury looks a 200 gamer. McCarthy same draft and has shown just as much if not more.

GWS need a back up ruck in case mumford goes down again. Zac C has shown he is better suited to the #1 ruck than the role we are trying to play him in. Leuenberger is the only other ruck on the table and we have managed to get first in line for his services as he wants to play in WA (a master play that bond et al should be praised for) any list manager who turns down that trade would be lynched if Mumford went down again and they had McCarthy playing in the 2s because Patton is back next year.

I think a three-way deal might be needed, if in fact Clarke was open to being traded.

I reckon the Bulldogs would love to have Hendrix, and he would be a perfect fit for their up-tempo style, and indoor conditions. Maybe we could get them involved.
