I'd love to know what 110% effort from a 6'8 bloke looks like. It's really easy to say a guy isn't putting in, but without access to the coaches instructions and player's GPS data, it's not easy to know.

Of course, the coach knows both of those things and has selected him. Let's hope he has a blinder. Can't imagine the weather will suit him though.

I think the 22 selected will have their noses flaring. After reading the article, the roar of the Lyon should scare the bejesus out of the finalists. Time to feast on 22 swans.

I don't know many people who would compare Pav and Walters to Mayne. I wouldn't.
Mayne's weakness has been not converting opportunities to good outcomes I.e potential marks and goals. Extremely important if you are a FF or key forward line player.

I'd suggest even he would say 2015 hasn't been a stellar year, apart from tackling of course which he excels at.

A 'not stellar' year does not equal a poor year. An average year maybe....

Jezza, there is some good words in that Age article. I like most am still amazed at the lack of respect the media is paying Freo as the top team in the comp. Just watching League Teams on Fox Footy, all on the panel seemed at pain to tip us this week almost as if they really didn't want to and concentrated more on our negatives.

As Lyon says finishing on top of the ladder was not left to chance and we triumphed in the games we needed to win.

Winning pretty or ugly at the end of the day matters not in the Home and Away.

Shane made the point that Zac C's poor game last week followed being knocked out the week before. I recall David Parkin (I think), saying that he usually had a shocker the week after being concussed. So maybe a little slack is deserved.

And I'd be very surprised if Mayne does not play his usual role up forward. And he'll be his usual brilliant self. Might even kick straight.

No-one surprised that Alex Pearce missed out? Seems he would have been perfect for the sub; plays forward and back in case Elvis or Ballas or Fyfe struggle with injury?

3rd Pearce is listed as an emergency - I reckon he's first in line if a change is going to happen.

All this stuff around Hendrix is baloney - he's quick (unlike Hannath), can mark the ball (unlike Tabs) and who cares how he performed in a side that was tossed to the lyons last week (like Rocky says). This week is the one that matters, he'll be very (very) good.

I hope you're right Polly.

I really like what Zac C has to offer, but I seem to recall he has "gone missing" in a few of the bigger games we've played...

I think with wet weather forecasted we only need one ruckman. Clarke late out for Mzungu.
Tabs did more last week to deserve a spot.

If its wet, my pick is Clarke and Tabbs late outs for Mazung and Clancee.

Clarke gets in to good postion to mark the ball but there's at least a fifty percent chance it will bounce off his head.
I'm surprised by selections. We went in tall against Sydney in the wet last year and it hurt us and Tabs had a shocker. Having said that he had a bit of mongrel about him last week. If the weather is as bad as they are saying I would play Clancee.

Morgan, a good role model for Clark is usually on the field. Sandi be his name. Not uncommon to see him give 110%, get down on his knees, make second and third efforts, take a mark and kick a goal. And now he added a new string to his bow, play on after a mark and pot a goal at close range.
Zac needs to pay attention

Fyfe is the only clunker in our team. Tabs can mark, he took an absolute ball tearer in a pack against Port. Give him time, he's going to be a beauty, just needs to complete clunking 301.
