I learnt that you can finish top of the ladder while only being the 10th highest scoring team in the comp - even by Roly's standards that's some feat, surely an AFL first.

umm, there's still two games to be played, surely there's something to be learned from... ...oh, hang on a sec.

that you can smack a young player in the chops and, as long as it is with an open hand and you come from Adelaide, there's nothing in it. Maybe a fine.

-That you have to line up outside Adelaide Oval for 45mins, 2hrs before the game, to get good GA seats. (As it was we were able to sneak up next to our cheersquad) I don't know if we're just lucky but it takes less than 2mins to get through gate 19 at Subi and that includes a bag check

-I'd just about put PA supporters ahead of Weagle supporters for most feral. (In the last qtr they were absolutely terrible. How about cheering on your team instead of swearing at ours at every opportunity ya knobs!)

i) All other top 4 teams suffered midfield injuries, whilst ours had their feet up.
ii) Freo's young mids were great and had a crack for the whole game
iii) Barlow, Suban and Neale were super, a good tune up for them.
iv) Duffield should play next week.
v) Taberner does more things wrong than he does right and I wonder if he'll ever dominate a game. He is not very good under pressure.
vi) Ibbotson is a better backman than forward.

i) as said here...Zac Clarke played himself out of the finals today
ii) Thought Hughes was one of the more impressive today and was not one I thought would be.
iii) Won't be a bad thing signing up Schultz for 500k a year on two year deal, he's just going to miss Round 1 though.
iv) Port supporters: you were playing a "B" team and you aren't playing finals ...you were way too wired Maaaaan.
v) I still struggle to get my head around bogans waving scarves and flashing their tatts whilst singing "Never Tear us Apart"
vi) Isaac Smith, Keiran Jack and Bitey Boy....well thought out this weekend Rosco.

Either the Freo head honchos don't watch the Peel games much or they aren't very good at identifying talent.

Had it confirmed in round 23, some of our first 22 are WAFL and a half in quality, whereas some of the kids are ready to step up.

If you don't give young quality players time in the bigs they won't get better.

Some of our young blokes are more skilled than some of our seniors.

If we'd had quality young blokes like Blakely, Weller, Grey getting time in the bigs earlier in the year, when some regulars were struggling we'd have been better off.

I think we are better placed for the finals than in 2013.

When you load up 7 Aboriginal footballers on a team they are going to lay an almighty whupping on whoever they come up against. The last team that did that (before today) was us - today, it wasn't.

Polly, just like everything else in Straya....Only if they've got talent.

Noddy, do you think it's possible that the time these young fellas have spent alongside older heads at Peel, training and playing, is what has developed them to the stage they are at now? We had generations of young players thrown to the wolves, out of necessity not for any other reason, and it made for a very hard learning curve for a lot of them. Over the last few years we have had the luxury of making these players ready before they have to step up not after, and it has shown up in the team, and most cases, individual performances.

Interestingly, even though a lot of posters have the opinion that if these players don't get a game, they will go somewhere else, we don't see many of them demanding to be traded. They all seem happy where they are. I for one am confident that the selection committee are doing a good job with the youngsters, and while I like most don't always agree with selection policy, a lack of inside knowledge means I am most probably wrong in my opinions about team selection more often than right.

If we're bringing in three quarters of Peel, it's a shame for Brendan Jones that despite being Peel's best player most weeks he had to stay home knowing his team is going to get spanked without ever having had a chance to mix it. Has been one of my favourite WAFL players even when he was back at Perth and getting whooped each week, he was always among their best players week in week out. Playing alongside Brendan, a lot of these young boys could probably take a lot from his effort and passion for the game.
Yeah, I am well aware he never got drafted.

For those writing off Hendrix after this game, out of curiousity, how did you go in your first game back after a seizure caused by a head knock?

If he was still affected by the head knock he shouldn't have played in a meaningless game.

I don't know if he was affected or not. But I find it a little unsavoury that Freo fans would question a Freo player's heart before they consider his recently concussed head as an explanation for a bad game.
