Is anyone else as horrified as me to learn that just two drinks over the course of an evening will give you a blood alcohol reading of 0.068? Gadzooks, if a fit football player can blow that after "a couple", then I'd be over the limit from sniffing a barman's armpit.
It's a terrible thing not to take people at their word, but I just had to find out the truth - here's a table of how many drinks you need to consume over a set period of time to blow a particular BAC (taking into account gender & weight):

Over a period of one hour, he would have needed to take at least four drinks. As the time period increases, so does the number of drinks - over six hours, he would've needed nine drinks.
Conclusions:
1. Luke Hodge is not telling the truth, or was too smashed to remember.
2. The AFL are standing by silently while the captain of a premiership club is given no sanction whatsoever for drinking and driving during the season.
