I know....its hard to stomach...but we want to win a Premiership!
Get him over on a one year playing contract, with a 2 year forward coach contract attached?
Lord knows e need to get rid of that cabbage kicker he have as a forward coach.
Entice Pav to play one more year (maybe 15-18 games) and have Son Son and Ballas through the midfield and Stevie rotating through the midfield. Fyfe could then also spend more time forward????
Only one problem with this plan.....BLOODY BONDY!!!
That and seeing Stevie J wear purple.

Why would you take Walters away from the goals? He's the only bloke who can kick them.

It's all well-and-good waddling around Kadrinya Park, but Stevie J would be a liability at Subi where he might actually have to pretend to run and tackle.

We've just re-signed Crozier, and with Mayne getting back to his best (albeit he's not nailing his goals at the moment), the only think that is missing from our forward line is a bloke who can clunk a mark, and a bit more efficient delivery.

Agree Morgan, ... regarding, "the only think that is missing from our forward line is a bloke who can clunk a mark, and a bit more efficient delivery.", ... I had a quick look at the stats (coz Morgan loves stats) to try to get an idea of the clunked marks inside the forward 50 for the WeePoos, the Slime and Freo.

What I found was tall forwards, taking contested marks in the forward lines for the teams are;
WeePoos - Gunston, McEvoy & Roughead (& Rioli small forward)
the Slime - Kennedy, Sinclair, Darling (occasionally Yeo)
Freo - Sandilands, Pavlich, Tabernar (& Walters small forward, occasionally Fyfe)
Out of those, Hawthorn has the smallest contribution of Tall Contested Marks in the forward line (the Slime the most, Freo in between).

This suggests to me a few things, firstly, big tall contested marks in the forward line is not essential to high scoring and high scoring efficiency. Secondly, "more efficient delivery" appears to be extremely important and is what Fremantle currently lacks (backed up by our much lower i50's 1056, compared to WeePoos 1210 and Slime 1152). And thirdly, two of our three tall forwards (211 & Pav), will likely both be retired in the coming years and the other (Tabernar) is widely criticised by fellow Dockerlanders.
Gone to bigfooty where there's fewer Docker Haters.

If you've watched Stevie J play this year you'd realise he's a liability these days. Well past it and struggling. Also, I wouldn't be able to stop myself from booing him constantly even in a man purple jumper.

I'm gonna throw this one out there though. Leuenberger comes over from Brisbane, Hendrix to GWS, McCarthy back home where he belongs. Thoughts?

It’s acknowledged that Stevie J is poor at applying team-based defensive pressure, required in the game plan of most of the top sides contending for a flag.

As for quick, accurate ball movement into a forward line - tall or otherwise - compare how the Weagles beat Freo with how Adelaide beat the Weagles. While I’ve never been a big fan of Priddis - in the derby he got possessions seemingly at will to one of the many outside runners that the Weagles have; these guys - especially Shuey and Gaff - cut us up in moving the ball out of congestion. Whereas Adelaide did a great job of stifling Priddis and any ball movement out of congestion, in addition to really slick and accurate ball movement. NicNat got the ball down to Priddis, but he was made ineffective by the pressure of the Crows.That to me is one template for attacking the Weagles.

Yes, Jooter, NN tapped to where Priddis was supposed to be, but an Adelaide player was busy (legally) pushing Priddis elsewhere. Worked a treat. I'm guessing that is how other teams try and cope with Fyfe.
