I thought the same thing about Mzungu and de Boer. You could probably add D Pearce to that list, who was playing as though he'd been told he'd be out of the finals side if he didn't lift his game. He rose to Ballas-levels of pressure at times.

i) Happy to see that my purple mo-hawk may still yet see the light of day...obviously finishing first doesn't mean squat, but having 2 home finals will certainly help...
ii) Johnno really looking more and more comfortable with each passing week...
iii) Agree that D Pearce played his best game in absolutely ages, even if we do have to take it with a pinch of salt given it's against the Dees...
iv) I think that there is a role for ZacD to play, especially if Sydney is our first finals opponent...with Buddy, Tippett, Reid and Goodes, they have a chance to really load up their forward line and try to stretch us, and I reckon ZacD will be invaluable then, and against other teams with similarly tall forward lines...

I learnt It was confirmed that Freo is more often than not in the negative to score free kicks. Despite doubling Melbourne's score (108 - 54), the free kicks tally was 16 to Freo and 17 to Melbourne.

I) D Pearce kicks straighter when he kicks crooked.
ii) Even if the free kick count is something like 11 - 3 in Freos favour at quarter time, it's like an ice cream in February, you know it's not going to last.

i) if there's an umpiring conspiracy and/or bias such that the best we can hope for is the rub of the green for only one quarter, with us earning the wrath of the whistle for the other three, then I'm satisfied enough when it happens in that order and not the other way round.

I learnt the crowd mark I took (clean hands, arms extended out in front) when de Pig kicked a goal half way thru the 3rd didn't make the replay....

Edit - Failed to mention the ~30mtr handball back to the goals. Shoulda kept it till security came and asked nicely for it back.

1) I was wrong!! We are not useless - see post 24th August -
Everything we have done this year has been a direct result of Roly and his never ending quest to win a premiership.
2) Melbourne has not improved in three years under Roos, I don't care what anyone says.
3) I love watching the slime get pumped.

i) Pre-recorded chants are spooky and unsettling. I always wait for the guy at the back of our block to start up his lawnmower voice and lead the chant.
ii) Adelaide are a top team. Top team.
iii) I have regained my faith in Ross' plan. It's all strategic.
iv) It's fun to watch the local media go into melt down.
v) Did I mention that Adelaide are a top team?
v) Love Freo!
