iii] The forward line performs much the same with or without Ballas and Walters.

I was a proud to be a Freo supporter just watching the broadcast and seeing and hearing the Freo fans at Subi loudly clapping Nathan Jones when he came up from the change rooms to the interchange bench on his crutches.

Take note Slime supporters.

Edit: docked, you beat me to it. I hadn't seen twitter or anything else, but I was moved by what I saw on the broadcast and wanted to mention it (given I had seen nothing on DockerLand)
& BTW: Nathan Jones is a champ. He deserves massive respect for his leadership on the field, over the years, in a battling club.

I learnt from the past month that.........
1) We need a new Skills Coach
2) A new goalkicking coach
3) An umpire equalisation fund where we pay under the table for "a fair go"

PS: there was a distinct lack of booing the umps today when they left the field
Nice when we get a game decided by the players only.

Call me chicken s--t but I'm hoping Hawthorn don't rest too many against Carlton and try and drop to 4th

i) Hawks won't want to play us week 1 of the finals as we beat them last time they played us at Subi (WC didn't) and

ii) in the last final they played at Subi in 2010.

iii) Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe WC have ever beaten the Hawks in a final.

iv) there is now a real job for the trophy polisher, not withstanding the 19 Derby ones.

i) After two quarters of doing a reasonable job of adjudicating the game, the Umps return to inbuilt prejudice and allow Melb to scrag players without penalty and cane Freo 9-1 against (from memory) so we still lose the free kick count against a VERY ordinary team with poor skills.
ii) Kicking across the face of the goals makes me very nervous and we won’t get away with it against a decent team.
iii) Mannic handballing around in front of goal also makes me very nervous.
iv) I wish our boys would bite the bullet occasionally and snap kick for goal instead of handballing to someone else under pressure.
v) Winning the Minor Premiership is really nice to have (finally a trophy in the cabinet) but it doesn’t really mean anything unless the big cup is there too.
vi) Freo supporters really are a cut above the rest – especially slimes.

I) If Ballas and Mikey play, there will be less handball and more quick snaps on goal in our forward 50
ii) Dawson in the backline and Tabs up forward are very useful to the "Hanrahans" among us.
iii) Didn't notice the crowd reaction to N Jones, but it does show that some WA footy fans are lovers of the game itself.
iv) We look really good (ie 1st quarter) when the umps pay all the holding the man and incorrect disposal frees that are there.
v) Our skill set falls away with the falling away of the umpires skill set.
