You're dreaming - it's lucky if 1 player makes it 'sort-of' down to the city end after a game with a complimentary ball-cap for some ugly kid twice a season (usually Creepy, DeBoer or D. Pearce). Even our retiring players never make it out past where the microphone is plunked so that Foxtel can run an extension cord out to fire up their lights in front of the dugout. I usually listen to my tranny to work out who is waving away off at the other end of the ground. The 'members section at Subi is apparently just behind the bench and stretches two sections west up to the player's race - the rest of the seats are just occupied on an occasional rental basis by account numbers.

Member thank you round celebrations? Forget it, nothing special - that's why a white blow-up anchor would be a bonus. Maybe some disposable gas masks (like the kind those flu paranoids wear in Tokyo) for the asthmatics after the firecracker stuff at the start of the game. Yeah, that would be good - with an anchor.

Sad really 'cause it wouldn't take much to organise and would cost nothing but would be a fitting tribute to people who spend their hard earned year in year out.
Every club should do this on their last home game and if you lose, the away team waits in the middle until the lap is over before they go over to their fans.
Sounds simple to me but hey who am I to think outside the square.

I'm with you Larkin - and perhaps have the second train lined-up directly behind the first one instead of a 15 minute wait in the rain on a platform with no shelter.

Mind you, what we have now is still better than the 30 minute changeover at Perth station that will be required post-Subi.

Nothing - no blow-up anchors, not even one of those lollypops they've been handing out all year - just a txt from the club thanking me for going to the game. Wow, talk about lack of effort - just a fizzler.

What was with the freo chant blaring out of the speakers at goals? Quite random. We must have top top men in our marketing dept.

My footy buddy pointed that one out to me - started in the first quarter, the second goal I think. I know everyone thinks about these things differently, but I thought it was shonky - like separating the syllables in TNT to 'FRE-MAN-TLE'. In the past, I thought the chant never went around until you felt the game was sewn up - now you've got this 'FREEEEOOO' coming down from the heavens out of the blue. Shonky, it negates the supporters, it replaces them with some fool and a finger on a button somewhere. Very 1984'ish (straight out of Orwell's classic).
